About Backcountry
Backcountry is a leading specialty outdoor brand founded in 1996 in Park City, Utah, powered by our expert Gearheads and a culture that connects people to the outdoors.
Since 2018 we’ve designed and built our own Backcountry-branded apparel, developed with Gearhead input. In late 2023 we announced our expansion into wholesale so customers can find Backcountry products at select retailers.
The Portfolio You’ll Represent
Primary focus: Backcountry apparel (technical outerwear, insulation, base layers, fleece, hike/camp, and après).
What You’ll Do
- Sell Backcountry seasonal lines to specialty and regional outdoor retailers across AB.
- Run compelling line showings and staff clinics that translate our technical stories into sell-through.
- Build quarterly territory plans and forecasts; drive KPIs (sell-in, sell-through, door count, AUR).
- Provide field feedback to the Backcountry team to inform product and merchandising.
- Attend key regional shows/retailer events; coordinate with marketing on co-op and content needs.
- Partner with operations to ensure smooth order flow and excellent customer support.
What You Bring
Proven multi-line rep experience in technical/outdoor apparel with an active AB account network.
- Fluency in performance fabrics and outerwear construction; strong presentation and clinic skills.
- A builder’s mindset: organized, self-directed, and relationship-obsessed.
- Passion for the outdoors and alignment with Backcountry’s values (Customer Obsessed, Problem Solvers, Curious Go-Getters, Spread the Stoke, Committed Collaborators).

We’re Looking For:
An established, multi-line Sales Representative, with a solid track record in the outdoor, sporting goods, or technical apparel industry. Your existing portfolio includes complementary brands, and your strong relationships with key outdoor retailers position you to successfully grow Tenson’s presence in the region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent Tenson’s full outdoor apparel line to current and potential retail accounts.
- Use your existing network to grow the brand footprint and open new accounts.

Job Overview
